Soon in Paris disorientated and trying to find our way, Chris chatted up a Frenchman but to get rid of him she had to pay.
Hotel now found so to the Sacre Couer we soon departed,
high on a hill with steps so steep it’s not good for the faint hearted.
Once at the top and by now needing a respirator,
we just managed to laugh realising we could have used an elevator.
Hungry from our exploits into the nearest bistro to dine,
on frog’s legs, snails and steak all washed down with French wine.
Later we went night touring the Arc de Triomphe is a sight to see,
then a long walk down the beautifully lit Champs Elysees.
Then to the bar for A $60 drink have you been ripped off lately?
adding to insult two flower sellers just kept grinning at me inanely.
Broke we decided to buy some drink and sneak it in the hotel,
whilst Chris popped into to buy it there is another story to tell.
4 guys hit upon me as I waited outside for her cold and damp, Chris just laughed and said “but didn’t ya notice the red lamp!”
Back in the hotel relaxing and planning the agenda for tomorrow,
not knowing for us in store was a day full of sorrow.
